Design 1896 Rewa
What makes this fairly typical motorsailer special is the fact she was designed and built with maximum performance in mind. She is of a size where aluminum is a logical construction material. In her design wood and aluminum were compared and aluminum was selected due to the potential weight savings. Her twin centerboards provide her crew with a lot of flexibility in terms of sail combinations/sailing balance.
In addition she was built by the famed Abeking & Rasmussen Shipyard of Germany. Rewa was launched in 1968. She is also currently on the market. Click here to see the listing (and quite a few interior images).
